356CAR Membership Information

Joining 356CAR is easy and ownership of a 356 Porsche is not required for membership. Annual dues are $15 for the “eNewsletter” (sent in a PDF format) and $25 for the hardcopy newsletter and are payable on July 1 of each year. The eNewsletter is in full color and available about a week before the paper copy of the newsletter is mailed; the printed newsletter is in B&W. Multiple year memberships up to 3 years are welcome. You can complete the information in the online form to the right or you can download a paper form and mail it with your check:

If you are already a member, look at the mailing label on your newsletter to check when you need to renew. Memberships renew in July of each year; email reminders are always sent out to expiring members. If needed, feel free to send an email to the membership chair (Dana McDaniel) to check your status.

356CAR Membership Recognition Program

Guidelines

This policy sets out the minimum eligibility criteria for nomination to three different levels of 356CAR awards.
These awards are intended to recognize the valuable contributions of individuals to the current and future membership of the Club. In particular, the system described below is intended to recognize a wide range of contributions beyond simply being a long-time member of the club.
This policy also seeks to create a progressive scale of awards so that both large and small contributions to the Club may be recognized in an appropriate and timely manner.

Awards
Certificate of Appreciation: This award is intended to provide recognition for individuals who have volunteered their service or made contributions to the Club. The recipients of this award will be determined by the Board on a quarterly basis and the awards will be given out to the individuals by the end of the calendar year.
President’s Award: This award is intended to recognize those individuals who have continued to volunteer and make significant contributions to the Club for a minimum of 5 years. The recipients of this award will be entitled to have their registration fees waived one time while attending events sponsored by 356CAR (e.g. North Meets South or Gathering of the Faithful, etc.).
Life Membership: This award is intended to recognize those exceptional individuals who have demonstrated significant and sustained contributions to the Club for a minimum of 10 years. Additional factors to be taken into account when considering a Life Membership nomination should include leadership and demeanor which reflect a dedication to and a positive reflection on the Club. These recipients will have their annual membership fees waived for life as well as having their registration fees waived one time while attending events sponsored by 356CAR. (e.g. North Meets South or Gathering of the Faithful, etc.). The Board may rescind Life Membership in cases where the recipient has conducted him or herself in a manner that reflects directly and adversely on the image and or the activities of the Club.

Process for Nominating, Assessing, Awarding and Announcing Awards
The President of the Club will be responsible for publicizing the award criteria and soliciting nominations from the membership at large on an every other year basis. The awards will be presented at the 356CAR “Gathering of the Faithful” event. Nominations must be submitted to the President at least 3 months prior to being awarded. A form for submitting nominations can be found on the Club’s website.
The President shall then appoint a subcommittee of no fewer than 3 Board members to review the nominations and submit their recommendations to the full Board. The full Board will then vote on the recommendations and approval by a minimum of 7 Board members will be required to approve the award.

Mementos and Recognition
Certificate of Appreciation: A paper certificate signed by the President and recognition in the 356CAR newsletter.
President’s Award: A desktop memento (e.g. a Porsche oriented item such as a paperweight, etc.) and recognition in the 356CAR newsletter.
Life Membership: An engraved memento or other suitable award as deemed appropriate by the Board and an article in the 356CAR newsletter about the individual and their contributions to the Club.

This policy shall be reviewed every 3 years and, if necessary, revised by the Board of Directors. Revised 11/2018 (M. Gabbard )
