Location: AQ Autoworks, 1432 14th Avenue, Oakland
Time: 9 am (Coffee and doughnuts will be available before the session; optional lunch afterwards)
The owner, Alonso, has invited us to his shop, AQ Autoworks (formerly Reunion Autoworks), where he will talk about his work. He specializes in bodywork and paint for vintage import cars. He has actually transitioned to doing mostly Porsche 911s with an occasional 356. He paints entire bodies, but he will also do accident repair and other bodywork like fixing a poorly fitting door or replacing a windshield seal.
In addition to discussing his work, Alonso has offered to look at any of our cars requiring bodywork or paint and describe what would be involved in doing the work. If several attendees volunteer their cars we will all get a lesson on what is involved in a variety of jobs.
Parking is limited to street parking as there is no nearby lot. The area is subject to car break-ins so do not bring your 356 unless you are having Alonso look at it. If you are bringing your car for him to look at, you can park it in his shop or immediately in front of it.
Please email Craig Chu to indicate that you are planning to attend. Also indicate if you would like Alonso to look at your 356 and briefly describe what type of work is required. He might not be able to look at every car due to time or space limitations. Craig will let you know shortly before the event whether or not he can look at your car.
